The mother of a murdered seven-year-old girl has filed a civil lawsuit against the apartment complex where her daughter was killed. Maintenance worker Ryan Brunn, who was hired by the complex, confessed to the child's murder.
Joselinne Rivera claims the River Ridge at Canton complex failed to do a thorough background check on Brunn. The lawsuit also contends residents had complained about him watching kids at the playground. The mother is asking for a jury trial.
According to the Bell Law Firm, which is representing Jorelys’ mother, Joselinne Rivera, maintenance man Ryan Brunn was hired just three 1/2 weeks before murdering Jorelys.
The girl's body was found in a trash compactor. Brunn hanged himself hours into serving a life sentence after confessing to the girl's murder.
