Dunwoody Police are alerting residents to be on the lookout for a suspicious man who tried to break into a woman's home.

Sgt. Mike Carlson tells WSB the incident happened just after midnight on October 28th.

"A homeowner over off of Davantry Drive, heard some commotion in the back of the residence.  The door knob was turned. And when the victim came down the stairs, noticed a  male that was possibly either light-skinned black male or possibly Hispanic, had taken the screen off the back window," said Carlson.

She immediately went back upstairs and called 911.

By the time police arrived, the suspect had fled, but the woman was able to give police enough information so they could come up with a composite sketch.

"Due to the fact that this individual was home, and the time of night, we're unclear of why this person was there," said Carlson.

Carlson says there haven't been any similar incidents in the area, but they believe his intent was more than burglary.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dunwoody Police Department.
