Bus driver arrested on child porn charges

By Pete Combs

Marietta, GA —

A Cobb County school bus driver is behind bars, accused of creating child porn after authorities raided his home and discovered pictures of nude boys as young as eight.

Stanley Johnson, 57, is one of two Cobb County men accused of buying child porn from a company overseas. When Johnson’s home in Mableton was searched last month, investigators found 180 DVDs of child porn they believe he bought from that overseas company along with images of child porn Assistant US Attorney Paul Jones said Johnson produced over the past nine years.

Who were the young victims?

That is what investigators are trying to find out now, according to Jones.

“We are looking to locate the victims and talk with them about what happened,” Jones said.

Jones would not indicate how many victims there might be or whether they are Cobb school children. But they were depicted in images that were created as early as 2004, he said. The investigation continues.

Johnson is being held without bond.

Jones identified the other suspect indicted along with Johnson on January 8 as 51-year old Jerry Lanier of Smyrna, a music teacher at West Georgia College. He was indicted on charges of purchasing child pornography from the same foreign company as Johnson. Unlike Johnson, however, Lanier is currently out of jail, but wearing an ankle bracelet and under close supervision.
