In Buckhead tickets up, crime down

ATLANTA, Ga. —

Watch out if you're driving through the Buckhead /Midtown area.  Cops are watching you and they're ready to pull you over.

Officers in Atlanta Police Zone 2 have been writing more tickets in this area than any other; 14 thousand more than the next highest zone.

APD Major Robert Browning says, "Criminals know that if they go into that area and they're riding in a car that, maybe, has a stolen tag or an expired tag or a broken light or something like that, the possibility of them getting pulled over is greater."  "It's part of an overall crime strategy ."

One man who was given a warning tells Channel 2 Action News, "I may not totally agree with it but they have to use whatever strategies they have available."

Browning says it is working as they have seen a big drop in crime in this area.
