Gwinnett County —

Gwinnett County Police investigators will canvass the area today where a Hertz employee was gunned down exactly a week ago hoping to generate new leads.

Cpl. Jake Smith says so far the information they’ve received has not been enough to find the suspect who shot 24-year-old Monique Marlow to death as she was cleaning out a car in the parking lot of the business on Satellite Boulevard.

“Right now the leads that we’ve gotten and the people we’ve talked to have not been enough to point us in the direction of a particular suspect,” he tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.

With her dying words, Marlow described her killer to police as a young black man wearing a blue shirt.

Hertz is offering $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

“We’ve done that because all of us at Hertz, from our staff in Georgia to all of us in our headquarters here in New Jersey and across the country, are just absolutely shocked and devastated by this senseless act of violence,” says  Richard Broome, Senior V.P. of Corporate Affairs and Communications for the Hertz Corporation.

Police plan to return to a bus hub near the Hertz parking lot today between 5pm and 5:30pm, the same time Marlow was shot.  Investigators believe between 30 and 50 people may have been there when Marlow was killed and are hoping someone may have seen something.

“We strongly suspect there are people that witnessed something, and maybe they don’t even think it’s something important, that we have not spoken to yet,” says Smith.

Anyone with information is asked contact Gwinnett’s homicide unit at 770-513-5300.
