Falcons and the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) reached a deal with the city for the new stadium.
The deal clears a huge obstacle for the proposed stadium, and officials say that construction is set to begin next summer.
“Timeline would call it to be July of 2014 or shortly thereafter, construction would start, and be completed in 2017,” says Congress Center President Frank Poe.
Invest Atlanta and the Atlanta City Council will also have to approve the deal before any ground can be moved.
Next steps for the proposal would be hiring an architect, licensing, parking agreements, and selecting a site.
