Gingrich says he will fight for Ga.

By Condace Pressley

Newt Gingrich says he's going to fight for Georgia.

One day after fellow Republican Mitt Romney campaigned for votes and money in Gingrich's home state, the former House Speaker said he won't go away without a fight.

Romney called Gingrich another Washington insider who only knows how to "spend, spend, spend."

"What baloney," said Gingrich.  "It's sad that Governor Romney, with all of his money and all of his consultants, can't get his facts right."

Georgia is one of ten states holding presidential primary elections on March 6 or "Super Tuesday" and has the most delegates at stake, 76.

Because Georgia delegates are awarded on a proportional basis, all of the candidates, Gingrich, Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum are expected to campaign here.

Santorum, winner of three contests this week has only been to Georgia once but is expected to visit again before Super Tuesday.

"We expect Senator Santorum will be here to campaign in Georgia at least once and maybe more," said State Senator Buzz Brockway.  The Gwinnett County lawmaker is one of the few Georgia leaders in the Santorum camp.

"He appeals better than any other Republican candidate to blue collar workers," he said.

Despite the Santorum surge, Gingrich maintains he's the main conservative alternative.

"I hope everybody in the WSB area will decide that having a Georgia conservative will be a lot better for Georgia than a Massachusetts moderate."
