A memorial fund has been set up in the name of Jake and Griffin Prince, the two boys killed in a crash on Lake Lanier. Meanwhile, divers continued their search for 13-year-old Griffin Prince for a third day on Thursday, as the community of Windsor at Lanier will hold a candlelight vigil next Sunday to show support for the Prince family.

Griffin Prince was on a pontoon boat with 12 other people late Monday night when a fishing boat slammed into it. His 9-year-old brother, Jake, was killed. The children’s grandfather, Mike Prince Sr., said an older brother tried to save Jake but was too late.

“Ryan (Prince) actually pulled Jake out of the water and put him back on the pontoon boat and tried to revive him, but he had already passed,” Mike Prince told Channel 2 Action News.

DNR rangers said Paul Bennett, 44, was driving the fishing boat and took off after the crash. He was charged with boating under the influence.

Mike Prince told Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri that he sold Bennett the boat he was driving in 2005.
