Three arrests in Douglas County could be tied to a multi-state check-cashing ring.
Police say a K-9 hit at a traffic stop on I-20 Douglas County, leading them to more than just cocaine and marijuana.
"There were 37 stolen checks recovered," says Investigator Joshua Skinner with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, "and we normally don't see that quantity. We see one or two or three when we catch these -- we law enforcement consider them runners."
Douglas County is now checking with other jurisdictions to see whether these suspects are involved in a five-state check-cashing ring.
"Georgia, Alabama, South and North Carolina, and Florida," says Skinner.
