DeKalb theives robbing homes in daylight

By Condace Pressley

A band of fast moving thieves are targeting one DeKalb County neighborhood - breaking into homes in the middle of the day.

Investigators say the burglars work quickly in and out of homes often times in less than sixty seconds.

Detective Jason Gagnon tells Channel 2 Action News they believe the thieves case the houses first looking for the big ticket items they can swipe and pawn.

"They're kind of going around the house and looking inside," Gagnon said.  "They want to get in and get out and not be noticed."

Police have security video from one homeowner on Citadel Drive in LaVista Park.  It clearly shows one burglar wearing a San Francisco 49ers jacket.  What it does not show is the intruders face.

Mark Davidson said someone kicked in the front door of his home. He's angry.

"You work your whole life for some nice things and someone just kicks the door in and steals everything you have."
