Suspect arrested in toddler's murder

By Jennifer Griffies

Clayton County police have charged the boyfriend of a Jonesboro woman with the death of her son.

Officer Eddie Soto tells WSB, two-year-old Jadien Harvey was found dead at the Marquis Grande Apartments on Tara Boulevard in July.

30-year-old Kemra Nesta Matthew was babysitting the child and when his mother returned, she found the child dead.  The GBI was investigating the incident.

"They were conducting the autopsy.  After reviewing the autopsy report, witness statements, and evidence from the scene, that's where they came out that they would obtain warrants against Mr. Matthew," said Soto.

Matthew was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and cruelty to children. He was already in the Clayton County Detention Center on aggravated assault and cruelty to children against other children who were in the house at the time of the July incident.
