A Cobb Police motorcycle officer is being treated after he became the second metro area cop injured in a traffic wreck today.
The officer was responding with lights and siren to a deadly single-car accident on the East West Connector at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to Police Sgt. Dana Pierce.
“Apparently a female in a tan vehicle pulled out from the Wal-Mart parking lot. There was no contact, but in order to avoid her, the officer had to put the motorcycle down,” Pierce said.
The officer suffered leg and ankle injuries. He was rushed to Kennestone Hospital. So far, Pierce said, the driver of that tan vehicle has not been charged.
