A Fairburn man accused of a carjacking and an attack at a nursing home has been arrested.  Fayetteville Police Detective Mike Whitlow tells WSB solving this case has been top priority since it happened on December 21st, at the Kindred Nursing Home.

"Two women were attacked in the parking lot and one of them was thrown to the ground and her vehicle was taken," said Whitlow.

The vehicle was recovered the following day.

"We recovered the vehicle in Alabama, and located evidence inside the vehicle which led us back to this suspect," said Whitlow.

Charlie Frank Collier Jr., 26, was arrested on Wednesday at his home and charged with robbery by intimidation, battery, two counts of simple assault, and theft by taking motor vehicle.

"This sort of thing.  It just doesn't happen here.  I can't remember the last carjacking that we had in Fayetteville.  We've never had one at a nursing home before.  For this to happen is just really, really strange," said Whitlow.

Why target a nursing home?

"No idea.  Of course, that is one of the questions that we asked him, but we did not get an answer on that," said Whitlow.
