Norcross Police have arrested a man and charged him with raping a 21-year-old woman earlier this month at a Gwinnett County hotel.

Sgt. Bill Grogan tells WSB so far, the 31-year-old metro Atlanta man has been charged with rape and aggravated sodomy.

"We gathered some information during the course of our investigation that leads us to believe almost with certainty, that this victim is not the only victim of the same type of crime," said Grogan.

In this case, police say the victim met the suspect at a bar, they texted and talked to one another and eventually agreed to meet at a hotel in Gwinnett County off of Peachtree Industrial and Medlock Bridge Roads.

"Things pretty much went bad from there.  They went into his hotel room that he had rented and which we believe he has rented in the past.  In my experience, I would say that he is practiced at this, and that he had a plan and he proceeded to sexually assault her against her will there," said Grogan.

Grogan says they would also like to talk to a woman who made an anonymous call from Cobb County claiming she had been raped in a hotel in Norcross in the fall of 2012.

"We are desperately seeking the contact with the victim from the 2012 incident.  Now that we have this man in jail we're really hoping she'll feel more comfortable about coming forward," said Grogan.

The suspect's name has not been released as the investigation continues.
