Hundreds of pro-gun advocates gather at the State Capitol to show their support for the Second Amendment.

The Georgia Second Right Rally is the third gun rally at the State Capitol organized by John Bigham who is concerned federal legislation being considered by Congress will infringe on gun owners’ rights to own certain firearms.

“We definitely have to draw a line in the sand and say we’re not going to take it anymore, we are not going to comply with unconstitutional federal law,” he told the crowd to applause.

Ron Vargo of Jefferson was among many who chose to wear his AR 15 to the rally.

“I enjoy shooting, my kids shoot with me,” he says.  “I have an 11-year-old daughter that handles this riffle just as well as anybody.”

Carmen Lout, a competition shooter, came out to show her support as well.

“I want to be here today because I’m an American citizen and I believe in the Second Amendment and I don’t think it’s the government’s right to be able to change the Constitution,” she tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.

Her friend Tierani Hendrix, also shoots competitively and is a gun instructor.  She too came to defend her rights, but was concerned that so many gun owners showed up openly displaying their weapons at the rally.

“I’m a little nervous today because I know that there are a bunch of people here that probably aren’t properly trained walking around with big AR 15s,” she says.

She supports training for people who buy guns and background checks for person-to-person sales.
