Bank robbery suspect
Snellville Publix surveillance camera captured suspect in SunTrust bank robbery.

By Jon Lewis

The FBI is hunting for a serial bank robber who has struck four times in the past five weeks in metro Atlanta.

The latest robbery was of the SunTrust Bank located inside the Publix at 1905 Scenic Highway North, in Snellville.

In fact all four hold ups have been at banks located inside other businesses.

The first robbery was on the afternoon of October 26 at the Best Bank, inside the Kroger at 6678 Covington Highway, in Lithonia.  It was the first of two hold ups at that bank.  In this robbery the suspect dropped the bag of money after leaving the bank and the cash was returned to the bank branch.

The suspect struck for a second time at the Best Bank inside the WalMart at 5401 Fairington Road in Lithonia.

The third robbery was at the same Best Bank in the Kroger in Lithonia.

"He's been armed in all four of these robberies," FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett tells WSB.  "That's why the FBI is working with both DeKalb County and Snellville PD to get this individual off the street."

The suspect is described as a black male, in his mid-20's, "with distinct facial features that may include a goatee," Emmett says.  "He was wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie and drove off in an off-white Lincoln sedan."

Anyone with information is asked to contact either CrimeStoppers Atlanta, the DeKalb Police or the Snellville Police.
