ATLANTA —
Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has announced that he will suspend his campaign after a slew of sexual harassment allegations and a claim of an extramarital affair.
Channel 2’s Michael Buczyner went to Cain’s new southeast campaign headquarters in DeKalb County on Saturday morning, where Cain will announce his decision before donors and supporters. Staff members said the announcement will come around 1:30 p.m., after hours of “crowd building.”
Cain’s staff spent hours getting the campaign office ready for its big debut, uncertain if the campaign will end before the office gets to open.
“Clearly all eyes are right here,” said Rachel Little, Cain’s vice president of operations.

Channel 2 Action News was there as Herman Cain arrived home late Friday afternoon to talk to his wife, Gloria, about his next steps. Channel 2's Mark Winne watched as a caravan of cars could be seen entering into Cain's gated community in Henry County just before 5 p.m.
Cain spent the day stumping in Rock Hill, S.C. Channel 2's Lori Geary asked Cain if he was dropping out of the race, but he refused to answer her questions.
During his Rock Hill event, he put the pressure back on the media about the controversy surrounding his campaign.
"I am reassessing because of all of this media firestorm stuff. Why? Because my wife and family come first," Cain said. "We got to look at what happens to contributions and we got to re-evaluate the whole strategy."
Attendees at Friday's event maintained they still wanted Cain to stay in the race.
"I feel bad about what's happened. 'He who's without sin, let him cast the first stone,'" supporter Brenda Rock said.
But some say too much damage has been done.
“His campaign is over whether he gets out or not. It's over,” Emory University political professor Merle Black said.
