Cain leads latest Rasmussen poll

  • comment(4)

Even though Herman Cain is struggling to shake off allegations of sexual harassment, the former News/Talk WSB talk show host is the leader nationally in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.

According to a new poll by latest Rasmussen Reports, Cain is getting 26 percent support of likely GOP primary voters. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is second with 23 percent. Cain’s lead of Romney is still within the margin of error, but it is the first time he has lead Rasmussen’s poll.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich draws 14 percent. The rest of the candidates are in single digits.

13 percent of those voters are undecided at this time.

In October, Cain and Romney were at 29 percent. Two months ago, Cain was getting just 7 percent of the vote, while Rick Perry was out in front.

According to the current poll, Perry has just eight percent, while Texas Congressman Ron Paul gets seven percent. Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman are tied with two percent, while former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is getting just one percent.
