Mother files suit for bullying

Clayton County, GA —

A Clayton County mother files suit, claiming her son was bullied out of elementary school.

"My son has been the victim of repeated bullying and violent attacks," she tells Channel 2 Action News.

The woman, who does not want to be identified, says the bullying started when her son was eight.  A classmate at Brown Elementary knocked out his two front teeth, but she claims her son was the one transferred to a different class.  The following year, another student got her son into a headlock and repeatedly punched him in the eye.

Despite meeting after meeting, the mother claims the bullying went on until she decided to home-school him.

Dr. Douglas Hendrix of Clayton County Schools says student safety is paramount.

"We want to make sure we're doing the right thing to keep all kids safe," he tells Channel 2 Action News.  "We will be investigating the protocols to make sure they were followed."
