Florence, AL —
A freshman football player from Lithonia is charged in a campus rape at the University of North Alabama.
19-year-old defensive lineman DeAndre Harrison and his teammate, Eddrick Harris, are among three men charged in the weekend rape of a female student in a campus dorm room.
The Florence Times-Daily reports Harrison allegedly talked the co-ed into entering his dorm room at Rivers Hall where the alleged attack took place. Campus police say alcohol was involved and more arrests are possible.
Harrison and Harris have both been suspended by the team, pending the outcome of the criminal case. They also await disciplinary action by the school and could be barred from campus.
