Atlanta —

Atlanta police shoot two intruders after a terrifying early morning home invasion on Richland Road in southwest Atlanta.

Five women were in the home when the four men burst in.  Crystal McKnight tells the AJC's John Spink, they tried to hide in a closet, but the suspects threatened to shoot through the closet door.

"They made us take our clothes off and lay on the side of the bed.  They all had guns to our heads and machete knives...and told (us) they would chop our heads off and rape all of us," McKnight said.

A teenager hiding under the bed managed to call 9-1-1 while the home invasion was in progress. Atlanta police responded and were waiting when the robbery suspects tried to flee.

"Shots were fired...At least two of the perpetrators were hit by gunfire," APD Homicide Lieutenant Paul Guerrucci tells Channel 2 Action News.  "One of the individuals has expired."

A second suspect was wounded in the arm.  The other two fled.  None of the officers involved were injured.
