Bill Crane on Gingrich campaign fate

By Chris Chandler

WSB Political Analyst Bill Crane on what becomes of the Newt Gingrich campaign.  NBC quotes Gingrich as saying he will have to "reassess" if he doesn't win Delaware Tuesday.

"I think we need to take a deep look at what we are doing," Gingrich told NBC News. "We will be in North Carolina (Tuesday) night and we will look and see what the results are."

Crane says the question is how much pressure Gingrich is getting from GOP leaders to step aside for Mitt Romney--and how much financial help he's being promised to pay off his campaign debt.

Crane says Romney himself can now afford to look ahead to November and needs to concentrate on hammering home continued weakness in the economy.
