Atlanta police help with security at DNC

Dozens of Atlanta Police officers are in Charlotte to help with security for the Democratic National Convention.

A total of 70 Atlanta Police officers arrived in Charlotte on Sunday.

Charlotte asked for the help and they'll be footing the bill.

But Atlanta Police Captain Adam Lee tells Channel 2 Action News Atlanta residents don’t need to worry

“If anything were to happen in Atlanta, any catastrophe or anything like that, these offers will be immediately called back to Atlanta,” said Lee.

Lee added that the police department is just returning the favor.  Officers from all over the nation helped in Atlanta when the city hosted the DNC in 1988.
