2 Cobb Co. teens seriously hurt in wreck

By Mark Alewine and Jay Black

KENNESAW —

Two teenagers are hospitalized after the car they were riding in crashed in western Cobb County Tuesday evening.

Police say the teen crashed his 2004 Ford Mustang on Nichols Road near Mars Hill Road around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

"The driver lost control of the vehicle, left the southern side of the roadway and struck a tree," Cobb Police spokesman Michael Bowman told News/Talk WSB's Mark Alewine

Investigators have not determined what caused the teen driver to run off the road.

The 17-year-old driver is being treated at Grady Hospital.  A juvenile female passenger was taken to another local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Police have not released the victim's names.
