The body of a Woodstock man, who has been missing since Sunday, has been found behind a church.
Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office tells WSB, 40-year-old Jay Gentry was reported missing by his wife. She told authorities, when she came downstairs from their house on Ashland Parkway Sunday night, her husband had left in his Honda Element without his wallet or cell phone.
Gentry's body was found in his car by a Georgia State Patrol helicopter pilot behind a church under construction on Turner Hill Road in Woodstock.
"The cause of death is not obvious at this time, so until an autopsy is performed, we certainly don't want to speculate the cause of death," said Baker.
Baker says there was no trauma to the body which will be sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
"There's nothing obvious there that leads them to believe it's a suicide or if there's any foul play. They just found his body in his vehicle behind the church," said Baker.
Toxicology tests will likely also be run and results could take several weeks.
