Man accused of fondling himself at Kennesaw park arrested

Cobb County police have arrested the man wanted for fondling himself in front of women at Kennesaw National Park.

34-year-old William Jacobson was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his home in Dallas.

“A subsequent interview was conducted and the suspect confessed to the crime,” Cobb County police spokesman Mike Bowman told WSB.

Jacobson is charged with public indecency and simple battery after an incident on April 23rd.

Two women were walking through the park when they spotted Jacobson.

"They observed the perpetrator standing in the wood line.  He was actually nude from the waist down and he was masturbating.  The perpetrator charged the females, knocking one of them to the ground.  He then got into a faded red Ford Dually pickup truck," said Bowman.

The women, Jennifer and Chelsea, had just finished running around 3:30 p.m. when they encountered the suspect.  Jennifer says she chased the man after he pushed her in a ditch.

"Initially I was pretty scared when it happened.  I was just in shock.  I mean that's never happened to me," she told WSB. "It instantly turned into anger and then I started running after him.  I didn't want him to get away because I didn't want this to happen to another girl."

Now the women say they are thrilled that it won’t happen to another girl.

“We were hesitant to go back there because he was still on the loose,” Chelsea said. “But now we feel 100 percent better.”

Bowman says, so far, Jacobson is only charged with this incident. But police believe similar cases have occurred for about 10 months.
