FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - A young mother was shot to death at a restaurant in south Fulton County early Saturday morning.

Fulton County detectives said the fight started inside Al Nopal Mexican restaurant around 4:30 a.m. on Old National Highway. The fight then was moved outside into the parking lot where a young woman in her 20s was shot and killed.

"There were 2-3 shots coming from the car. Not going into the car, but coming from the car, and it took off,” said one witness.

One man, who didn't want to be identified, witnessed the shooting and said his cousin was just trying to break up the fight, yelling for them to stop.

"Got in the car, everybody still trying to get to ... Got in car and went, ‘pow, pow, pow,’ went to shoot," the witness said.

The man said the large crowd took cover as the bullets flew.

“Everybody got up off the ground, she was the only one still lying there, lying there bleeding," the witness said.

Other family members came to the scene, still in disbelief. They said the young woman was a mother.

"That's what's hurting me right now. Don't know what to tell her kids, her mom," the witness said.

Police are expected to release a better description of the shooter and possible surveillance images from inside the restaurant.

Police said the car that the shots came from was a gray four-door. One witness said it was a silver Nissan Altima.
