ATLANTA, Ga. - A medical examiner has released the name of a woman who died of injuries she suffered in a Sunday morning crash.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Juanita Waters, of Atlanta.
Emergency crews had to rescue the 68-year-old woman from her vehicle after police say a speeding car hit her at the corner of Lee and Van Buren streets in southwest Atlanta about 10 a.m. Police say Waters was at a light when a Ford driver slammed into the back of the Honda Waters was driving.
Waters was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later died, police said.
Police said Waters' car sustained major damage and caught fire.
This is the second deadly crash involving a car that has been rear-ended and caught fire within the last three days.
Police found a total of three vehicles were involved in Sunday's wreck.
No charges have been filed at this time. Police say an investigation is underway.
