Suspected serial burglar in Snellville arrested

A suspected serial burglar who has been targeting townhomes in the Snellville area may be off the streets.
Gwinnett County police investigators arrested 23-year-old Armun Hatcher after answering a suspicious person call in the same area.
Cpl. Michele Pihera says officers were called to the location off Highpoint Road after Hatcher was discovered behind one of the units.  After giving police his ID, she says Hatcher fled. The following day another call was made by the same individual who again spotted Hatcher behind the unit.  That time, Hatcher fled into a neighboring apartment where he had apparently been staying.
“At that time we searched him… and we found some items that may be related to the residential burglary in his pocket,” she tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.
After searching his bags, police found other items believed to have been stolen in the nearly 20 burglaries including jewelry and an X-box.
Hatcher is being held on a probation violation until police can match each of the items to the various victims.  Gwinnett County Jail records show he’s been locked up three times this year and has been charged in three burglaries since 2011.
Rosie Wade was happy to hear the news of his arrest.  While no items were taken from her unit, her camera recorded him inside her townhome.
“I’m going to sleep much better,” she says.  “I know everybody in the apartment complex is really happy and really excited… even the newer neighbors who just moved in here.”
