Gwinnett county authorities are looking for the person not only suspected in a home invasion but for also burning the house down Thursday afternoon.
Lt. Colin Rhoden with the Gwinnett County Fire Department tells WSB the homeowner called to say his house in the 4200 block of Peace Rose Place in Loganville was on fire.
"They said that it was due to a home invasion in which the invader came in and set fire to the house," said Rhoden.
The homeowner managed to get out and the fire was put out, but the house was a total loss.
"The house is as we would say, it's on the ground. There's no real structure left to it. There are still walls up but everything is burned and burned out," said Rhoden.
The heat was so intense that it melted some of the siding of a neighbor's house.
"Normally, when you hear of home invasions, you don't normally hear that they set the place on fire," said Rhoden.
The search continues for the suspect.
