COUNTY ROAD CLOSURES:
The city of Conyers has closed the Parker Road Bridge.
RCSO has closed Stanton Road at Rolling Hills Trail.

WARNING: Weather Forecasts indicate the ice WILL GET WORSE during the day today. Roads are getting very bad as of this posting. Additional ice is expected within the next few hours to make conditions worse.

The RCSO is issuing the following warning: DO NOT DRIVE – STAY OFF THE ROADWAYS!

Persons are asked to STAY OFF THE ROADWAYS and to NOT DRIVE. Please remain off all roadways within Rockdale County as the conditions of ice on the roadways will become extremely dangerous. Please monitor your local weather station for continued updates on this major weather system.

If you need emergency assistance, please dial 9-1-1 and allow emergency personnel to respond to your location.

Use Caution: Watch for downed lines – DO NOT APPROACH any downed lines – LIVE WIRES contain deadly amounts of electricity. Parents should warn children to stay clear of any power lines that they may see, and to report back if they do see power lines down. Parents are urged to check areas before allowing children to play in areas where lines may be down. Call 9-1-1 to report downed lines.

The RCSO will continue to provide regular updates throughout the day as to the status and condition of the county, including roadways, power outages, and calls for service for all public safety.
