Police have arrested two men suspected of holding up two Waffle Houses in a matter of hours. Norcross Police Lt. Bill Grogan tells WSB the first occurred just before 11 o'clock Sunday morning, March 30th, at the Waffle House on Buford Highway.
"One of them was armed with a seimi-automatic handgun, one of them was armed, for lack of a better word, with bolt cutters," said Grogan.
Grogan says they broke into the safe and got away with $1,200.
Less than ten hours later, Grogan says the two suspect hit a Waffle House on Club Drive in Duluth.
Grogan says video surveillance from that Waffle House captured the suspects' tag and the two were nabbed Tuesday morning.
"Detectives from both agencies were interviewing both parties and ultimately both admitted to their involvement which is a good outcome," said Grogan.
The guns were recovered. The cash was not.
Otis Barnes, 21, and Robbin Haynes, 19, have been charged with the robberies and are being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
Grogan says these appear to be the only two they're suspected in but authorities are talking to other agencies in the metro area.
