Milo’s Bar and Grill ordered closed by the city

Finally.

That’s the reaction of Marietta Police like Detective Chris Lindsey to word Milo’s Bar and Grill has been ordered closed by the city.

“It’s a real joy,” Lindsey told WSB’s Pete Combs Tuesday. Over the past three years, since the bar opened on Garrison Rd. near Powder Springs St., he has worked many of the 49 major crime calls to Milo’s over the past three years, ranging from stolen cars to murder.

“It’s definitely a sigh of relief for all of us at the Police Department to have this business closed,” he said.

After one man was wounded in a March 20 shootout at Milo’s, Marietta officials refused to renew the bar’s business permit. Police issued a “cease-and-desist” order. As of midnight Monday, the doors were shut and police were on hand to make sure they stayed shut.

“Maybe a productive business will move there instead,” Lindsey said.
