Marietta family looking for answers in 12 year old case

The family of two men killed a dozen years ago are asking for help in solving what police say is a case gone cold – a case they hope they can still solve after all this time. Police and family members want one question answered above all others: Why?

Twelve years after her two sons, Abdur and Yashiah Robinson, were found murdered in a Marietta home on January 4, 2001, Inecca Wright still wonders.

"Could I have prevented it?" she asks.

Her grandson, Abdur Robinson, Junior, was only six when his father was gunned down.

"To the people that did it, I just really wish I could have a chance to know who you are and know why," he said. His grandmother is almost certain that she knows the killer or killers and is frustrated beyond words that she cannot identify them.

That is a question that also haunts Marietta Police Detective Shane Merritt, tasked with solving this case a dozen years later. But he remains confident.

"Personally, I think it can be solved," he said.

If you can help, Marietta Police want to hear from you. Contact Detective Merritt 770-794-5324 or the Marietta Police Tip Line: 770-794-6990.
