A Henry County man is under indictment for attacking a police officer.

But this officer was able to bite him several times before being assaulted.

21 year old Brian Williams was being chased by police after officers responded to a call of a domestic dispute.

During the pursuit Williams ran into some woods, prompting officers to call in a K-9 unit dog named Jestor.

"The dog went into the wood line and Mr. Williams was able to get his arms around the dog and he, basically, choked the dog," says Henry County Police Sergeant Joey Smith.

Smith says this was a full fledged choke hold on the animal.

"The dog was losing consciousness," he tells WSB.  "It didn't sustain any permanent injuries, but it did cause the dog to lose its sense."

The K-9 handler was able to rescue Jestor.  Officers then arrested Williams.

Accord to police, Williams was injured in the incident, suffering some severe bites from the dog.

A Grand Jury has now handed up indictments against Williams.  He's charged with simple battery, two counts of obstructing an officer and one count of harming a police dog.

Williams is free on bond and will be arraigned next month.
