A Kennesaw man is facing charges for allegedly providing alcohol to a 16-year-old Woodstock High School student found dead in a Cherokee County apartment earlier this month.
Kyle Douglas Walker, 20, turned himself in to police Thursday, after he was charged with three misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to persons under 21 and with reckless conduct, also a misdemeanor.
According to the arrest warrant, Walker provided alcohol to Alexander Fraire, 16, and Stewart Murray and James Cole, both 20, at a party at his home on Live Oak Drive in Kennesaw on the night of July 11.
The warrant accuses Walker of providing vodka and rum to Fraire and encouraging “the chugging of these beverages.”
According to the warrant, Fraire was later vomiting, unable to walk and talk and had labored breathing before being taken to a Towne Lake Hills apartment in Woodstock.
The warrant states that Fraire “had to be carried to the vehicle and once at the apartment complex had to be carried to the apartment by Murray, Cole and Walker.”
Cherokee investigators determined that the alcohol consumption was a contributing factor in Fraire’s death during the early morning hours of July 12.
Walker’s bond was set at $5,000.
