Hosea Feed the Hungry at GWCC

Volunteers were lined up at the Georgia World Congress Center before the sun was up ready to help feed more than 10-thousand people. at the Hosea Feed the Hungry Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Dinner Event.

Volunteers were already in the kitchens at the DeKalb County Jail preparing and cooking hundreds of pounds of turkeys, stuffing, vegetables and deserts.

At the World Congress Center volunteers will help serve that food. Valerie Hood signed on as a volunteer along with her daughter and son through her job at Coca-Cola. "We just wanted to give back to our community and help those less fortunate than we are," she said.  Valerie lives in Gwinnett County and admits, she could have stayed home today.

Volunteers will be handing out clothing, giving hair cuts, flu shots and even helping some people find a job.
