A southwest Atlanta family says they were robbed at gunpoint inside their home by seven men armed with at least one shotgun.

Milton Seals, 80, told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh he was at his Lynhurst Drive home with his wife and 6-year-old grandson early Tuesday morning when the men came in through a window.

Seals, an Army veteran, said the men surrounded him in his bedroom, pushed him around and demanded cash until he turned over $700 in cash. The men also took their TV, but left it outside the home. Two jewelry boxes containing approximately $40,000 in valuables were also taken.

Seals’ wife, Melba, was in the bathroom at the time. She said a man wearing red sweatpants and holding a pink gun came in and told her not to come out, or they would shoot her.

"What would make people rob older people, what would make people do this? Is that all they have to do? They should get jobs," Melba Seals said.
