A Gwinnett County man is dead after a freak two-wheel accident on New Year’s Day.

"Gwinnett 911 received a call of a person down in Harbins Park," said Gwinnett Police Sgt. Randy Works.
"Police and fire responded and attempted to locate the individual."

But an initial sweep of the park turned up nothing, so searchers called in the Gwinnett police helicopter. The airborne crew spotted the downed cyclist and directed searchers to him – but it was too late, according to Work. The 60-year cyclist was dead. Although the cause of death is still not certain, Works said it looks as if no foul play was involved.
