A Lawrenceville man is jailed for exposing himself at a neighborhood pool where children were swimming.
Gwinnett Police were called to the Melrose subdivision after a women picking up children noticed Warren Jourdain, 26, going in and out of an open shower stall with his genitals exposed.
The woman got the kids from the pool, shielding them from seeing Jourdain. She also admonished him for his actions.
Before Jourdain left, she took a picture of his license plate which was shown to police.
"They actually have security cameras in this neighborhood and the officers were able to consult the video from this incident and determined that he was actually doing that activity," says Cpl. Jake Smith.
He tells WSB's Sandra Parrish when officers when to Jourdain's home, which is in the same neighborhood, he was still in his car with his shorts ripped open. Pornagraphic material was also found in the car's glove box.
Smith says the man told officers he had simply been washing himself before getting into the pool as a sign instructed.
Jourdain is charged with one count of public indecency and is scheduled to appear in court next week.
"We seem to see a few of these cases every summer where we have some adult male acting in a suspicious nature and it turns out they might be doing something sexual in nature," says Smith.
He warns parents to be vigilant not only about their kids' safety at the pool but also about potential child predators.
