Forsyth County child dead; babysitter questioned

Forsyth County sheriff's deputies are questioning a man in connection to the death of a three year old boy.

It began just before eleven o'clock when EMS received the 911 call.

"They got called to the house in the Bridgestone subdivision," says Deputy Doug Rainwater.  "CPR was started on the three year old male and CPR was continued.

"The fire department arrived shortly after that," Rainwater tells WSB, "and transported the boy to Northside-Forsyth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead."

As for the man, he is considered a person of interest.

"When the first deputies arrived, the person of interest wasn't there," says Rainwater.  "That's what made us start looking for him."

That manhunt ended about 30 minutes later when the man was located in some woods near the subdivision.

As for the child's mother, "she was not there but she did come home," says Rainwater.  "The person of interest is a friend of the boy's mother and was babysitting."

The events leading up to the boy's death are not yet known.
