Flurries possible in metro Atlanta, more snow in mountains

WSB meteorologist Kirk Mellish is calling for some spotty drizzle, sprinkles or a snowflake for metro Atlanta today. But it won’t be any problem for your drive to work or back.

“Any flurries will be short lived,” says Mellish. “No travel problems are expected and many of us will not see any.”

There is a winter weather advisory in effect for the north Georgia mountains until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The sunshine returns on Thursday. Look for highs in the mid-40s after a morning low in the low to mid 20s.

Mellish is looking at another shot at a meaningless snowfalke Friday. Highs again will be in the low-40s with lows bottoming out near 21.

The weekend is shaping up nice. Mellish is calling for a couple of sunny winter days. Highs will be in the low-40s on Saturday and the upper 40s for Sunday. Lows will stay in the upper 20s.
