Family searching for missing Gwinnett woman

The family of a missing Gwinnett County woman is asking for the public’s help in finding her.

Keith Reed says his daughter, Tosha Herron, was headed to the North Georgia mountains two weeks ago to visit a friend when her car plunged over a cliff on Hwy 129 on Blood Mountain. He found her car days later, but she was not there.

Emergency crews with Lumpkin County and the Georgia State Patrol conducted a massive search of the area to no avail.

“With all of my heart... I would bet my life on it that she crawled out of that,” he tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.

But Reed, retracing the steps she may have taken, believes his injured daughter ended up on the side of the road and was picked up by someone.

“Maybe it was a good Samaritan.  Maybe it was someone who meant her harm,” he says.

Reed says the family passed out flyers around the area and was contacted by someone who claimed to have spotted her at a motel in Gainesville.  Other tips have also come in making the same claims.

He believes she’s being held against her will and would come home to her two small children if she could.

“We don’t know if she’s had a head injury from the horrific crash.  Maybe she don’t (sic) know who she is right now,” says Reed.

Herron’s sister Stacie Nelson says they are desperate to find her and make sure she is alright.

“I can’t believe that she could survive something like this horrible accident and then another horrible thing happen to her,” she says.

Reed is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
