Schnydine Augustine called Delray Beach Police on Feb. 18 to report that she was pushed to the ground by a group of four to five males, who stole her iPhone and $50 in cash before fleeing on bicycles.
But according to police, that’s not what happened. Instead of getting robbed, police say that Augustine had sex with four minors — ages 14 to 16 — behind a store, with the activity recorded by the minors on a cell phone.
Augustine, 20, faces three counts of lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim between 12 and 16 years old and one count of perjury and making a false police report. Augustine was arrested Monday afternoon and released Tuesday after posting a $20,000 bond.
According to police, Augustine said she had been followed into a Metro PCS and Ross Dress for Less store on South Military Trail by three males. Police requested surveillance video from the two stores and law enforcement officers were able to identify the three, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Detectives interviewed the 16-year-old last week. The boy told police that he and another juvenile were having sex with Augustine when two other juveniles showed up. Augustine had sex with all four boys while being recorded on a cell phone, the affidavit states.
Police obtained the cell phone video, which showed Augustine having sex with the boys, detectives say.
Re-interviewed by detectives, Augustine reiterated her original statement about being robbed before admitting she lied about the robbery and had sex with the boys.
