Arrests made in multiple robberies around Metro Atlanta

Atlanta Police have arrested two men in connection with five robberies in Metro Atlanta involving pedestrians.

The robberies occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14th.

"That's very unusual to have that many in such a short span of time so our investigators began to compare notes, get together, analyze the evidence and we were able to very quickly trace the property to a couple of individuals," says Carlos Campus with the Atlanta Police Department.

Three of the armed robbery attacks took place in Midtown, the other two incidents happened in Southeast Atlanta.

- 1544 Piedmont Avenue, NE

- 1280 West Peachtree Street, NE

- 10th Street NE (at Argonne)

- Avon Avenue SW (at Princess Avenue)

- Metropolitan Parkway SW (at Pegg Road)

Police are not releasing the identities of the suspects.  But, Campos tells WSB, "only one of them has been charged with the actual armed robberies and the other one has been charged with being in possession of stolen merchandise."

Campos say the victims’ statements really helped investigators track down the stolen property which belonged to the five people who were robbed at gunpoint.

Police want the public to know that officers are on heightened alert for suspicious activity this weekend.

Anyone with information about suspicious activity is asked to call the Atlanta Police Department.
