COBB COUNTY - Cobb County Police are warning women who like to walk in Kennesaw National Park to be on the lookout for a man who has been exposing himself.
Officer Mike Bowman tells WSB the latest incident happened on April 23rd, while two women were walking in the park near Cheatham Hill Road.
"They observed the perpetrator standing in the wood line. He was actually nude from the waist down and he was masturbating. The perpetrator charged the females, knocking one of them to the ground. He then got into a faded red Ford Dually pickup truck," said Bowman.
Bowman says the suspect appears to have been trying to get away when he knocked one of the victims down.
Jennifer and Chelsea had just finished running around 3:30 p.m. when they encountered the suspect. Jennifer says she chased the man after he pushed her in a ditch.
"Initially I was pretty scared when it happened. I was just in shock. I mean that's never happened to me,” she told WSB. “It instantly turned into anger and then I started running after him. I didn’t want him to get away because I didn't want this to happen to another girl.”
Police believe there have been similar cases that may have occurred as much as ten months ago.
The suspect is described by police as a white or light-skinned Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s. He’s about 6-foot-2 or 6-foot-3 and weighs about 230 pounds. He has a goatee with stubble and he has shaggy or curly hair that is either dark brown or black. He might have hazel eyes.
The suspect was last seen wearing a light blue short-sleeve T-shirt and grey cargo shorts.
"We know that there's been similar incidents that probably occurred in that area and anyone who may have seen the individual or seen somebody suspicious like that, or even the red Dually pickup truck to call Cobb County investigators at 770-499-3945.
