Burglar sought in Snellville computer store heist

Snellville Police detectives are searching for a suspect in this week’s burglary of a local computer store, but it’s the way the thief entered the business that has them baffled.

Surveillance video from Atlanta Computer Solutions shows the man removing the entire glass from the metal frame of the front door without breaking it.

“I don’t know what he used, but it was removed in one piece,” says Det. O.J. Concepcion.

He tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish the burglar then proceeded to take $5,000 in computer equipment and cell phones from the business.  The suspect was in and out within a few minutes.

“It’s pretty unique how smooth he was in and out,” says Concepcion.

The burglary took place before 10:30 p.m. in the Pharrs Village strip center which sits just off busy Hwy 124.  The shopping plaza, which has several eateries and a nail salon, is considered a high-traffic area.

Concepcion tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish it also took place during Monday night’s severe weather, a time when thieves usually like to strike because it’s not uncommon for the weather to set off burglar alarms.

Although he’s wearing a mask, the suspect is believed to be white, 6 feet tall, and weighing 200 pounds.  A black SUV was seen near the area and is believed to be the getaway vehicle.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact Snellville Police.
