Following a meeting Monday with Police and Mall Management the shop and kiosk owners backed off and reopened their businesses.
Police say they have made two arrests in connection with previous smash and grab robberies in the mall, and store owners say that shows them the police are finally " getting serious" about the problem.
Kiosk owner Amin Lalani says "We feel the problem is not our problem per say, not a jewelry problem it's a mall problem."
Michael Romstand with Simon Properties says they met with Police and store owners to draw up better security plans. "Adding both private security officers, additional non-uniformed police coverage to, insures we have a heightened visibility for our shoppers and our tenants." said Romstand.
