Today's pro day's are: Auburn, Buffalo, Harding, Jackson State, Missouri Southern State, Northwestern, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Tuskegee, Youngstown State.
As you would expect from the group above most of the prospects drafted this April will come from Auburn. Here are some to keep an eye on.
DE/OLB Corey Lemonier: Lemonier is a possible late first round pick. He would have benefited from another year at Auburn. Still the pass rusher had a ton of athletic ability and is a nice fit as a speed rusher in the 3-4 scheme.
TE Phillip Lutzenkirchen: Auburn's career TD leader for tight ends isn't a vertical threat posting a slow 4.94 forty at the Combine. Has good size and should work his way onto a roster if he can improve his blocking.
RB Onterio McCalebb: McCalebb blazed a 4.34 forty at the Combine. He'll likely make his only contribution in the NFL returning kicks. He has good height (5-10) but is really skinny at only 168lbs. He does have good hands, which might allow some teams to utilize him in the slot.
Missouri Southern State
NT Brandon Williams: Williams was only the third player in Division II history to earn All-American honors in three years. While I don't expect him to be much of a pass rusher in the NFL, Williams did account for 27 career sacks while playing every position on the defensive line. His low center of gravity allows him to anchor well and take on multiple blocks. Standing at 6-1 and weighing in at 335lbs, Williams is a true nose tackle prospect that will likely be drafted in rounds two or three.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more info from Trevor Woods and I on each pro day.
