Not really much to report on this game. Tech's Mark Zagunis (DH) scored on a throwing error in the top of the 12th to score the lone run of the game. Zagunis was hit by a pitch and advanced on a single by Andrew Rash (RF). After Brendon Hayden reached on a fielder's choice, during which a throwing error allowed Zagunis to score. The Hokies' Chad Morgan (C) walked to load the bases with no outs, but Tech was unable to add any additional runs.
The Hokies only put a runner on second four times in the innings leading up to the 12th and no runner advanced past second. Boston College threatened several times, most notably with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second and seventh innings. Tech starter Joe Mantiply was able to work out of the jams unharmed. Rash led the Hokies with three hits, while Morgan added a pair of hits and a walk.
The most notable stat of the game was that the Hokies only gave up three hits over 12 innings. Mantiply pitched seven innings, striking out six and allowing just two hits. Mantiply walked four and plunked two more in the no-decision outing. Jake Joyce took over next, allowing a hit over 1.2 innings. Clark Labitan pitched 1.1 hitless innnings and Brad Markey pitched two innings for the win. Markey struck out three and gave up no hits.

Tyler Horan scored the first run of the game for the Hokies, coming across on a Chad Morgan bunt in the second inning. Ryan Burns then singled to bring in Hayden (3B).
Tech added another run in the third inning as Zagunis scored and Matt Dauby (2B) scored on a double by Alex Perez (ss) in the fourth inning.
Zagunis doubled to open the fifth inning and Rash (RF) walked after a Horan fly out. Hayden grounded out to advance the runners to second and third. It didn't look good for the Hokies but a throwing error allowed Zagunis to cross the plate with two outs. Burns (DH) then doubled to score the sixth and seventh runs of the game.
BC scored all five of its runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and had the tying run at the plate when Jake Joyce came in to close out the game.
Devin Burke picked up the win, pitching seven innings and allowing only two hits. Burke struck out six and gave up two walks. Jake Joyce earned the save with 1/3 innings of work.

Matt Pare put BC on the board first with an RBI single in the fourth inning, but Tech took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning. Hayden (3B) drove in Horan (LF) and Rash (RF) came home on a single by Morgan (C).
Pare tied the game with a solo homer in the eighth and then the Eagles took the lead on a single and then a double by Gabriel Hernandez added some insurance.
Horan doubled in the ninth inning and then scored on a single by Hayden. Morgan singled to give the Hokies runners on first and second, but a ground out ended the game before the Hokies could tie it.
Clark Labitan was tagged with the loss, and a blown save, with four runs on five hits. Markey started the game for Tech, pitching seven innings and allowing five hits and two walks. Jeff Burke earned the win with two innings of relief.
